Dear Mom.....

Bet you got excited seeing a post all about you? HUH?

Okay back to my original thought.......

Dear Mom,

You hijacked my memory card. I want it back. I can't take any pictures with my kick ass camera because I am too cheap to buy another memory card right now. I would much rather buy the girls some shoes or something with that $30.00......Thanks!

Love you!

Things I have learned over the past 10 months

I was so naive going into motherhood. Oh boy o' boy was I naive! I was thinking the other day how much my life has drastically changed in the past 10 months. It really is crazy.

So here are the TOP TEN THINGS I have learned over the past 10 months since becoming a mom to twins!

1. Sleep (even a hour) is like gold.

2. Newborns are alot of work.....2 newborns are a insane asylum waiting to happen.

3. Bottles won't wash themselves (trust me, I have tried to will them too)

4. Babies don't give a damn what you need to get done, all they care about is who's gonna feed them and sit and play with them for hours on end.

5. Your house will be a wreck. No matter how much you clean it. Its still always a wreck!

6. Diapers aren't that bad after you have changed 10000 of them.

7. Going to work is like a mini-vacation.

8. Minivans rock.....yeah I said I was never going to own one.

9. Whoever said "losing the last 10 pounds is the hardest" really knew their stuff......

10. And last but not least Opinions are like A$$holes........EVERYONE HAS ONE!! (man I wish they would keep them to themselves though.)

The O's incident.....

I left the room the other day for 3 flipping seconds and this is what I come back too! These two are trouble makers! Notice how Finley is sitting as far away as possible from the "crime scene" while eating all the stray cheerios....

Gillian making sure every last one is dumped out....

Finley making sure she isn't associated with the mess.....

Gillian coming back to finish what she started.

She's too cute to even yell at.....

2 Walkers!

Finley took her first steps tonight! Alot of them! I wasn't paying attention when it happened either!

Stacey was over and she took 4 steps in front of her! Stacey was in shock and I was pissed I missed it! But she took alot more so I got to see tons of her walking tonight! I think she has better balance than Gillian too!

Gillian seemed jealous that she walked, and at one point was trying to knock her down! I can't believe both my girls took their first steps at 9 months old! It seems so early! Its crazy!

I feel sad that they are growing up so fast though. I may have to have another sooner rather than later! I feel baby fever coming on already!

So much for relaxing....

Sheesh, I thought when camping season was over I would be relaxing at home enjoying my weekends. That wasn't the case this weekend. I was more tired today after being home than I usually am after camping for a weekend!

Saturday morning Mom, me and Diane (mom's coworker) went to Ben's house for the morning. He has a old bottle dump in the woods behind his house and I decided I wanted to go with them and dig up some old bottles. What in gods name I was thinking is completely beyond me. I mean, who in their right mind says "Hey Gary, I need to get away for a few hours. I'm going with mom to dig bottles"? I should have went and got a damn pedicure!

But nope, we dug bottles. It was pretty cool though, but hot and way too much exercise for a freaking Saturday morning!

Then we hung out at Ben's, Gary showed up to do some electrical work for them and then we went to Mom and Dad's because apparently their doorbell has been malfunctioning and ringing on its own so Gary had to disconnect it.

Then we came home, and the boys and Sondra came over to do dinner and a movie. I gotta say though, this was the highlight of my weekend! Sondra brought over Ravioli's and salad and Ben made cheesy garlic bread. It was the best meal I have had in a looooong time!

Sunday we went to the campground for about 4 hours to do some more closing up. Then came home and did some housework, cleaning, cooking and grocery shopping.

That was my weekend. I was so pooped today that I worked from home. I felt like I was going to fall asleep all day long. I was begging the girls to take naps (of course they refused to take them at the same time) and just felt blah all day.

I need a rest from my weekend! If I was smart I would go to bed early tonight.

But that probably won't happen since I have some major cleaning up to do from dinner tonight and I should get dinner ready for tomorrow tonight too.......ugh.

Happy Freaking Friday.

Wow, I thought yesterday morning sucked. Nope, not even close to comparing to the morning I have had today!

So, I got up, the house was a wreck. Gary and I tag teamed it and did all the dishes, vacuumed it all and picked it all up. This was at 6:30 in the morning.

Then I realized I had no clean pants for work (at this point I should have said screw it and worked from home but nope....) I decided to pull a dirty pair out of the hamper and chuck them in the dryer.

Finally after being so insanely late I left. Now I work about 45 minutes from home so being late when you work so far away sucks. I was speeding........yep, I admit it, I was.

I finally got about 2 miles from my work and noticed a cop sitting on a side street. SH!T! I braked, HARD, and he proceeded to pull out and pull me over.

This isn't the first time I have been pulled over but I was hoping it would end much like the other "here you go ma'am, here's a warning, please slow down".

Yeah not a shot in hell this time. Douche bag (and I say this lovingly, because I understand he was doing his job and I was speeding but douche bag non the less) handed me my ticket when he got back to the car. $175.00 freaking dollars.

Obviously I pleaded not guilty and mailed it off. I didn't see he had a radar gun, I don't think he knew how fast I was going honestly. Hopefully it will be dropped off my record and I can just pay half if I contest it.....

So that was my morning. Fun, Fun, ticketing Fun!

WALKING!!!!

I just can't believe it! Gillian started walking tonight! She has been standing in place pretty good for the past week but when she would try to take a step she would just fling herself forward.

Today she was standing and I held my arms out to her and she actually took a step! She looked so freaking shocked, then she took another. I was so excited I screamed (and when I say screamed, I mean screamed) on the top of my lungs. I scared the hell out of her to be honest with you....and then she cried! Oooops.

Mom came over and we were practicing with her. She took a few more, probably 5 or 6 more but then started looking like a crazy drunk! Lol, I'm sure she'll do better tomorrow. I can't believe my baby is starting to walk! At 9 freaking months old!

I know Finn is right behind her too. It is only a matter of time now......life as I know it just got more complicated!

Not how I wanted to start my Thursday....

Gary and I got up earlier than usual this morning thanks to Miss Finn.

She decided 6:30 was a good time to get up and was making all sorts of noise in her crib. We were worried she would wake up Gillian so up we went and started our morning.

Gary made a pot of coffee and I was playing with Finley when he came in and informed me our coffee pot kicked the bucket. Huh? How does that even happen? I thought they lived forever? We have had ours since our apartment days (which was at least 6 years ago) so it is pretty old but man, why did it have to die when I was dead tired and in desperate need of a cup of coffee?

So I grabbed Miss Finley and we took off to McDonald's where I got us breakfast and LARGE coffee's for the morning. Gary's mission today is to go out and get us a new coffee maker!

Man how I wish it was Friday.......

Happy Fall!

I am so excited! Fall is here! Although, ironically it is 85 today but technically Fall is here!

I want to bring the girls to the apple orchard this weekend and get some apples to make pies and applesauce with. Hopefully there are still some apples left.

We got a radio flyer wagon for the girls and I want to bring it so they can ride in it. We tried it out in the house to make sure they wouldn't try to jump ship er, wagon and they did pretty good in it so I think we can try it!

Then the month of October will be filled with fun things! We need to go get our pumpkins, there is the Apple Festival to go to, The BIG E, and then of course Halloween!

We decided instead of taking the girls out this year (because com'on, they are way too little to eat candy) we will have a Halloween party at the house and invite everyone over for some Pizza and snacks.

I am dressing the girls up as pink poodles too. As soon as they get the darn thing back in stock I'll order it! Here it is. Isn't it adorable?

I hope they get them back in stock soon!

Then of course we have their 1st Birthday to plan coming up in 2 months! I can't believe they are going to be 1 in 2 months!!! So crazy!

Plan time

Okay, I have a plan.

Now that camping season is over (thank goodness), I really need to start cooking again. It is kinda hard to cook when the only time you have to go for groceries you are stuck at a camp ground for the weekend.

Now don't get me wrong, I enjoy camping, but it sucks when my weekends are filled going to the camper instead of shopping/cleaning/cooking or catching up around the house. So I am looking forward to free weekends to get things done around the house. Heck. We may even get our living room painted this month! Or maybe the last window in the house put in?

Anyway, someone told me about this site http://www.tastyplanner.com/ and its pretty freaking awesome. It has recipes, you can create a meal plan for the week and it even gives you a shopping list off of your meal planner. I did my planner for next week (can't start now, no time to go for groceries) and got my list ready.

Mentally I am ready.

So close!

Gillian is going to be walking within the next couple of weeks. I am sure of it! She was letting go a ton today and dancing in place and bouncing up and down and flailing her arms. It was so cute to watch her balance and dance. I wish I could have got it on video. Maybe tomorrow!

Also Gillian is saying "dada" and every time she says it Finley says "mama". Its so funny.

And both of them cough if you sneeze or cough. They are my little mimickers. They really do crack me up. I walk around fake coughing just to have them fake cough back at me!

Just love these babies!

And the helmet is for........

None of your damn business! That's what it's for!

We took the girls out to Bj's this weekend. I was annoyed by the time I left. Mainly because people are idiots with no tact.

Finn wore her helmet out and a woman came up to me. This is the convo I had with her:

Her: Um, are those your daughters?

Me: Yep, sure are.

Her: Oh, well their cute! My son has a flat head, I hope he doesn't have to wear something like that helmet (with such disgust in her voice) pointing at Finn.

Me: Well, its not the worst thing in the world. Sure beats having a messed up head.

At this point I tried desperately to walk away, I honestly wanted to smack her. But she decided to tell me how I can get pampers from Big Lots for $30.00.....I use luvs, and get them for $30.00. Go away lady.

Then Gary had a lady say to him "Oh how cute twins, and the helmet is for.................." he just told her she has a flat head. I would have given her a flat head.

Maybe I am a little sensitive about the subject but man, can people be a little less nosey. Or maybe approach it differently? I would never just come out and ask something like that?

Okay, so anyway, yeah it irks me. Can you tell?

Anyway, Finn is doing better wearing it. We haven't been able to get her to wear it at night yet but we are working on it. I am hoping tonight is the night! She is sleeping soundly with it on right now! Keeping my fingers crossed.

9 Month Picture. Yeah just ONE!

Thats as good as it gets folks. Finn with her fingers in her mouth and Gillian grabbing her ear.

Picture Night......dreaded picture night.

Each month it has become increasingly difficult to get the girls to sit in their chair and cooperate during picture time. They used to sit there like plops and do nothing. Now they try to stand and crawl over each other and jump off the edge. It really is a challenge. I actually am dreading it.

Luckily Stacey is coming over to visit tonight so I will enlist her help to make sure no one dive bombs off the edge and she can keep everyone seated! Good luck Stacey!

Dear Fridge......Why do you betray me?

Every morning I open the refrigerator door hoping to find it has stocked itself full of good food. But yet every morning I open it and its EMPTY.

So disappointing. Who has time to shop anymore? Hell between working full time, juggling 2 kids, a dog, 2 cats, camping nearly every weekend and a husband there is no time for grocery shopping. And even if there was time for shopping I am sure that would have taken up all my time for cooking so either way I am screwed folks! SCREWED!

I have been eating insane things for dinner lately. Ice cream mainly. Tortilla chips alot. Tonight was cashews and tortilla chips. Last night was corned beef hash, I even fed it to the girls. That's desperation!

I thought I was going to have a breakdown tonight though when I was browsing through my blog lists and decided to check out my favorite recipe site www.ourbestbites.com. They have the most awesome recipes there. Not the thing to do when you have starved yourself to death for nearly 6 months! I am literally drooling over here. No kidding. Its pathetic.

Before the girls got here I made a ton of freezer meals. Those were great. Well I ran out about 6 months ago and have been hungry ever since! I am shocked (and when I say shocked I mean shocked) I haven't lost any weight!

So anyway, I have decided unfortunately my fridge isn't going to fill itself. I need to do some shopping. I need to start making some freezer meals again and I need to eat! So my goal this month is to get cooking again.

I have to make time. Somehow. I need to find motivation. Somewhere. I need to eat. Something!!!!

Okay. So, I am going back to checking out my favorite recipe site and going to decide what to make first!

Wish me luck. Goodness knows I'm gonna need it!

9 Month Appts

Well both the girls are growing like weeds! Finley is up to almost 17lbs and Gillian is about 20lbs. Both are about 29 inches long putting them in the 95th percentile for their height and Finn is in the 25th for her weight and Gillian in the 75th.

My little girls are getting so big!

Blinged!

Finley's helmet is done! Well its gotta dry some more but its done! Gary put all the decals on it and then we went out and got some "bling" for it and put some diamonds in her name and some on the flowers and then Gary threw some modge podge over the whole thing so it would stay!

I can't wait to see her in it. Here are some pics of it finished. I will post some of her wearing it when she is in a good mood and I can get a pic of her and Gillian together!

Making Progress

I think.....

We went to CCMC this morning (bright and fricken early too by the way) to have them make adjustments to Finn's helmet. She is hating this thing. I mean hating. She looked so miserable in it Gary and I couldn't stand it.

Now that they shaved some off the insides where it was too tight she seems much happier in it. Thank goodness. I was on the verge of saying screw it and let her have a screwed up head!

Also the decals I ordered for it are in. I'm excited to bling out her band. Its gonna be so cute!

Say Cheese!

Its been forever since I posted pics of the girls so I thought I would overload everyone with a million today from the past month! Here you go!

Blabbering explosion

I forgot in all the helmet drama (which went much better the 3rd wearing today by the way) Finley started blabbering like crazy this weekend. She says Daddadadadada over and over and over again and she even throws in a Mama now and again for good measure.

Helmet Hell

Oh boy. Oh boy. Breath, Breath.

Finley got her helmet today. She hates the dumb thing. I am praying she was so darn cranky wearing the it because she only took a 20 minute nap before her appt and a 20 minute nap on the way home. Maybe she was just exhausted? Oh dear lord. Please let it be because she was tired.

I can't stand to see my babies unhappy. It was breaking my heart watching her cry wearing it earlier.

Anyway, she has to work her way up to wearing it 23 hours a day. I already ordered her decals for it. I can't wait to get it. Seriously. The stares walking out of there were insane. I mean, I'm used to people staring. I have twins for goodness sakes, but this is going to get us even more attention so the more I can do to make people (and ourselves) feel comfortable with this thing the better.

If you have a baby that is getting a band you need to check this site out www.blingyourband.com
they have the most awesome decals and designs.

I can't wait to get it in and make her helmet look adorable!

Dear Gillian

My little bean bean.

You have morphed into such a good little girl. Its strange. You used to be such a crank. Now you are a happy smiley baby that really only gets cranky when you are hungry or sleepy (or when Finn bites you) and you have a smile that could melt anyone's heart and the most beautiful blue eyes.

You have been crawling for the past 2 months and I honestly thought you would be walking by now. You seem pretty content crawling around as fast as you can though. Maybe that's the way you like to get around?! You are blabbering like a crazy girl too and started clapping a few weeks ago. You've been saying Dada and Mama (once in a while) and other blabbery things. You also love to scream! Loud!

You will eat anything and everything we put in front of you. I honestly haven't found one thing that you are Finn won't eat. Your favorite breakfast is pancakes and you love peas, green beans and any pasta.

And best of all you are finally starting to sleep through the night! You still get up around midnight for a bottle but I'm still up then so I don't mind!

Well that's all for now. Your such a sweetie pie, please stay a good girl for Mommy and Daddy !

Love you to pieces!

Mommy XOXOXOXO
