Work.......or not to work......

So, I am going to be 32 weeks this friday! Go Me! And I am still working! I must be a idiot! I have the option to work from home, I just dont feel like I would be as productive at home and it would be such a hassle! Ugh, I hate having to get up in the morning and get ready and then drive 45 minutes to work each morning but at the same time I feel like its whats keeping me going and feeling decent everyday! I dont want to sit around at home and work......some days I change my mind....and then say I am going to work from home and then I come in the next day and have a good day at work and actually like being here.....something is wrong with me! I figure I probably only have another 4-5 weeks of working anyway so whats the big deal at this point?

I am pretty sure its a pride thing.....I dont want to be "that pregnant person" if you know what I mean. I want to be the one that never complains, and never calls out, and works up until the day I have the babies! Why can't I just be the pregnant person that doesn't care for goodness sakes? Its like I want to be the legend, the one that all other pregnant girls after me hate because people will say "Well Erin was pregnant with Twins and worked up until her water broke"! Lol. Oh the standards I set for myself!!

I think a big part of it too is that I told myself from the start I was going to carry these babies with no problems and I feel like if I stop doing what I have always done and start to give up my body is going to do the same and they are going to come early!

Ugh. So, for now, I told my supervisor to set me up to work from home and I will play it by ear. Maybe next Monday I will hate work again and decide to work from home? Who knows anymore. Either way.....I'm working today!

HO HO HO! Merry Christmas!

Christmas is my favorite holiday, I mean, really, who doesn't love Christmas? It has always seemed like such a magical time of the year. All the lights and decorations and the smell when you walk into the stores of the spiced pine cones! Uh, I just love it! Did I mention that Christmas is my Dad's birthday too? His middle name is actually Noel! So you can imagine how thrilled I was when I got pregnant to find out my due date was actually Christmas Day!

Unfortunately when I found out it was twins I knew that due date was out the window, but its still fun to know that the Christmas decorations are starting to go up in the stores (despite the fact its not even Thanksgiving yet) and that means its getting closer and closer to when my girls will be here! I am a little worried that they will come a little too early (around Thanksgiving) and I wont be able to go out with the family for our annual "Find the perfect Christmas Tree hunt"! You know where the whole family goes out together to the Christmas tree farm and we all race around to find the perfect tree, then when we all find ours we sit around the lot comparing the size and type of tree we picked for that year! Dad always thinks he has the best tree........I personally think I have the best tree, and my brothers, well, they always end up with a tree way too big for their house! Lol. I am sure everything will work out though, it always does, and I have instructed the girls not to come on Thanksgiving day......please girls, I love Thanksgiving dinner! Don't make me miss my Turkey dinner!!! I also told them they can't come until after we venture out for our Tree! I am hoping to get our tree the weekend after Thanksgiving! Its way earlier than we usually go, but hey......we gotta make sacrifices this year!

Also, instead of doing the gifts for every single person in the family this year we decided to do Secret Santa's and put a $100.00 limit on it so everyone gets a decent gift and we only have to buy for one person! The hard part is we have dubbed it a "no gift card Christmas"......so you actually have to use your brain to find your person a good gift. I of course pulled my father......sheesh. I have no idea what to get him. I have been racking my brain for days now trying to think of something to get the man that has everything! So, if anyone has any bright ideas let me know!

31 week update!!!

Well, things are looking good. I am starting to feel worn down sometimes. Being pregnant with two babies is no joke! It is so darn taxing on your whole body! It takes every ounce of me to get through a day!

So....where to start? I had my OB appt this week. I only gained 2lbs (in 2 weeks) and she was happy with that. So I am up 34lbs now, which I am very proud of by the way! Also I am measuring 42 weeks now! I start going for my non-stress tests Nov 2nd. I have to go twice a week, thats gonna suck but hey, whatcha gonna do? OH yeah, I PASSED MY 3 HOUR GLUCOSE TEST!!! GO ME! So, I can resume my insane sweets eating! All I want this week is a chocolate banana cream pie! I think I will make one on Friday night!

I finally got the nursery back in order after the baby shower. It was sheer hell trying to find someplace to put all the things we got. I cleared out room in the linen closet and got rid of tons of things we didn't need anymore and finally found room! So everything is washed, folded and put away and we are ready for some babies!

I also have been cooking like a maniac lately? Is that a form or nesting? I haven't cooked more than 5 things this whole pregnancy (Thanks to my loving husband Gary) and now thats all I want to do!

So the past week I have been making tons of food to freeze for when the babies get here! So far I have made the following:

3 meals of shepherds pie
5 meals of chili
3 meals of chicken stroganoff
10 twice baked potatoes
4 meals of tuna noodle casserole
4 meals of chicken pot pies
Honey mustard chicken fingers
BBQ Chicken Fingers
Beef Bean and Cheese Burritos

If you are looking for easy recipes I have been using this blog for good ideas www.easymealsformoms.com she has great ideas and recipes there!

So I figure by the time I am done I should have enough food to feed Dh and I for at least 2 months! Lol. By then hopefully we will have a good routine down and will have time to cook again! I have to say though, that having this food in the freezer makes me feel literally 1000x better! I guess its just one less thing I need to worry about when the girls get here! Who is going to have time to cook when they are here? Not me thats for sure!

Well, thats all I can think of right now. I have no memory left on my memory card so I need to get a new one so I can take a updated picture! I'll try to get one within the next couple days!

Baby Shower

Well, I had my baby shower on Sunday. It went great. Lots of people showed up and the girls got tons of things! Including tons and tons of clothes! Oh boy, you would never imagine all the clothes!

We still have some things we need to buy but having the shower definatly helped out. Gary and I went out to Target yesterday to get a few things we needed and ended up spending $200.00.

So besides that I have to go for my 3hr glucose test on Friday. And then we are going up to the campground to finish closing up and then we are done doing anything on the weekends until the babies come! I am so excited to sit around and do nothing! Well, I doubt I will do nothing but I wont have anything planned and that feels good and relaxing already! Hopefully this weekend we can finish cleaning out the linen closet and organizing the stuff the girls got and putting everything away. The nursery looked so perfect on Sunday...now its filled with clothes and presents and all sorts of things! Its gonna take me forever to make it look good again!

9:00 am Phone Calls....Never good!

Well, I have had quite the morning already. I got up late, couldn't find one pair of dress pants that were clean or fit me, got stuck in traffic, and got a call from the nurse at my OB's office saying I failed my 1 hour glucose test.

MY WORST NIGHTMARE.

I dont worry about having GD. I know I should, but I know that it can be controlled with diet so as long as it can be controlled thats all I care about. I do however hate the idea of having to sit at Bristol Hospital for 3 hours and do nothing for the 3 hour test. What fun!!! I have no idea what I am going to do to stave off the boredom. I hate sitting around and doing nothing. HATE IT!! I guess I could bring a book and just read for 3 stupid hours. But that gets kinda uncomfy in a chair huh? Oh well, at this point it has to be done and I can't do anything about it. I took Friday off of work. Anyone wanna come with me?? Lol!

Grow Babies Grow!!!

So I had a appt with Uconn today for another Growth Scan and both babies are doing great! Baby A is breech and 2lbs 12oz and Baby B is transverse and 2lbs 13oz. Everything looks perfect and I have another growth scan in a month and then start going for NST's 2x a week at 32 weeks. Its crazy to think in a month I am going to be 32 weeks!!! Eeeek!
